TEA DANCE
|
Our First Tea Dance Anyone thinking of having an afternoon of dancing should be encouraged by the success of our first afternoon Tea Dance in 2013. For some years we have held an evening dance in the spring for less experienced dancers as well as those who are more proficient. This year we decided to try out something new to us and to our great delight it was a success. We used our usual venue & timed it for the middle part of the day. The atmosphere was amazing right from the start; we used CD’s as usual so it was not the anticipation of hearing the band, maybe the promise of “afternoon tea” was the true reason! This was served at long trestle tables set down the middle of the room and the food brought in as people placed their chairs at the tables. Everything was tiny, sandwiches of at least 4 varieties plus many assorted cakes and 2 kinds of scones with jam & cream in little pots. The cake stands made it look really special (they have been stored away for next time). In fact the whole afternoon was special and it is likely we will repeat it again, so if you missed it this time, watch out for an announcement here on the web in the new season. Happy dancing.
