WHAT WE DO
|
Our aim is to provide the
public, in the Liverpool area, with the opportunity to learn Scottish
country dancing. Local churches and clubs also enjoy the "Teach-In" which takes Scottish country dancing out into the community and offers a wider audience the opportunity to experience this form of dance in their own environment. After our recent success at the Palm House, some members of the branch took Scottish Country Dancing out into the community. We returned to Cronton C of E school to join the Rev. Pauline Makin & some of the congregation from the Cronton churches for a “teach in”. Willing volunteers danced throughout the evening and after supper they continued well into the night. St. Philamons in Toxteth also invited us to return to dance with their parishioners. Once again, every one joined in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, no problem getting the congregation to participate!! Back at the classes, visiting teachers came along during the summer term and gave us the opportunity to dance some interesting dances we had not tried before. It is a welcome change for the Branch teachers and much appreciated. The members are now enjoying the summer break, but come September our classes will resume and the social occasions begin once again.
